WAFarmers

Since March 2008, Emerald has operated a marketing alliance with farm advocacy group the Western Australian Farmers Federation (WAFarmers). This partnership sees Emerald manage the Wheat, Barley & Canola Pools designed specifically for WAFarmers members.

The relationship was initially established because of concerns that the process of deregulation could lead to a number of marketing services and product features disappearing from the Western Australian grain market.

Ravensdown

Since the establishment of Emerald in 2004, our corporate strategy has been centred on partnering with grower organisations to assist grain growers to navigate the challenges of a complex and volatile grains market.

The regional alliance with Western Australia’s United Farmers Cooperative Company (UFCC) was first established in 2004.  Early in 2008, UFCC merged with New Zealand’s largest supplier of fertiliser, the grower-owned cooperative Ravensdown. Ravensdown is an Australasian growers’ cooperative with approximately 30,000 members.
